Trust in Truth
Reading Psalm 91
How do you fight a lie? Super vague question mostly because I want to know what your natural instinct is. There are multiple ways you can fight against a lie but, there is one true way that you should fight against a lie. This month we’ll be focusing on how we can do that by leaning on Jesus for EVERYTHING!
As followers of Christ we are called to love our Father so much that we stay away from all things that causes us to turn away from him in shame, anger, or sin. Why? Because we should never want to be far from him even when/if we fall short from his grace.
The idea is that if we as children of God choose to walk with Jesus with our Full Hearts. We would then go into a season of pruning and purifying this is where things get sticky and blurred. Most people assume "I've given my life to Christ but nothing changed" after two weeks or sometimes even less of repenting and coming into Christ. Thea commitment of giving your life to Christ is only the beginning of what's to come. NO, this isn't just a saying it's exactly what i said a COMMITMENT to Jesus. If we break that down a commitment is the act of doing something even when its no longer fun or gives you instant gratification. It's waking up even on your worst day ad still choosing to commit to what you said and follow through. Yes, sometimes it wont be fun, it won't be perfect and sometimes it won't even be immediately clear to you why you chose that path to begin with. This is the beginning of your new life, your blessed life under Christ.Remember that when you choose Jesus you are also choosing to start a new life, gain a new identity and establish new habits which in return will provide you with the fruits of the spirit and a new heart.
If/When you choose to say Yes to Christ you begin to crave things from the Father i.e reading your bible, living under the commandments, spreading the love of Christ to everyone around you. This also includes you daily choosing to pick up your cross and building your relationship with Christ. Involving him in everything you do, every decision you make or even want to. Your prayer life will grow with time, you'll start to fast by choice, you will even seek to do what you can to help even your enemies. In this process your faith will also grow, i suggest keeping a journal to track your progress this will come in handy during the times you don't feel close to God, when you think you're not doing enough or even when the Devil and his aides come against you to place lies on your spirit.
Listen to me when i say, This is not an easy thing to do. Dying to your flesh isn't easy but a good way to pray and tackle this issue is to ask God to help you love him more than the desires of your flesh. Help you to see the good in what you are doing to become imperfectly perfect for him and not yourself. Ask for help to become a good servant to God someone who seeks to do heavenly things on the behalf of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. It took me a while to reach the point where my faith in Christ was unwavering, where no matter what bad thing happened to me i willingly wouldn't move or allow myself to blame God for my situation or what another human was doing to me.So i know wholeheartedly we can reach the point where we know that our circumstances don't mean that God isn't with us, it doesn't mean that he isn't watching and, it doesn't mean that all people are evil and God doesn't care. God is always watching, he always cares and, he will never allow you to be overcome by the enemy and those he uses against you. As you grow in Christ, learn the things you need to know to protect yourself and heal from the things you have experienced during and before coming to Christ. This is where we learn to Trust in the Lord and lean on him and not our own understanding.
Prayer
Father i come to you on this day with love and thanksgiving in my heart. I come to you with all my worries because i know it's YES and AMEN. You are consistent, merciful and, gracious in your love. You show up for me in every challenge that i face so i pray that you help me to show up for you in the same manner. Help me to have faith and trust in you, your word and, everything you have given to me. Give me peace in my heart, give me full authority over my life and the opportunity you have given me to learn, steward others and be stewarded by you.Let our stand points never waiver no matter the cost, how someone else makes us feel, and/or no matter the attack the enemy chooses to use against us.Father i thank you for renewal and redemption, hold me when i need it most and send people to speak life into me as i carry your love in my heart each day. Hold me accountable for my actions, give me a new heart that chases after you and not the world or those in it. I ask that you continue to anoint my life, my purpose, my vision, guard my eyes, ears and, spirit against the weapons of the enemy and those who have allowed him to enter their lives to be used for wickedness. Bless me with a covering for my Family, For my dreams and, for everything promised thing you have given to me In Jesus' mighty name AMEN!
What we can do this month to grow our trust in the Lord.
Pray a Pslam that covers an issue you are facing in your life and have faith that the answer is yes and amen. Pray with an expectant heart knowing that God will never fail you and whenever you are in need he will be there to help and guide you.
